Corruption Perceptions Index 2024

Global corruption levels remain alarmingly high, with efforts to reduce them faltering, according to the 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), released by Transparency International. The report has exposed serious corruption levels across the globe, with more than two-thirds of countries scoring below 50 out of 100. Despite some recent progress, countries ranking high on the CPI are still not doing enough to tackle transnational corruption. They must eliminate financial secrecy loopholes; regulate and better supervise professionals such as accountants, real estate agents and lawyers; and hold perpetrators of transnational corruption and their enablers accountable, including through effective enforcement and transparent and accountable asset recovery.
